GUESSTIMATE RACE
Jim Heller correctly guessed his finishing
time in the May 10, 2010 5K to win the guesstimate race for the 8th
time. Jim joins Jim Crandall and Nelson
Slagle as 8 time winners of the guesstimate race.
Rounding out the top 5 were; 2- Jessica Alexander 1 second miss, 3- Mark Calkins 2 second miss, 3-
Brian Bousman 2 second miss and 3- David
Rusher 2 second miss.
DAVE PARSEL WINS MAY 2010 5K
Dave
Parsel won our 298th lunch hour 5K on May 10, 2010 in a time of 18:44. Dave has now won 108 lunch hour 5K’s. Dave became the 3rd runner to win
the 5K at an age of 55 or older. Tracy
Brown won the January 15, 1990 in 19:42 at the age of 61 and 2 months. Jim Crandall won the May 1994 race in 21:06
at the age of 58 and 8 months.
This is the 32nd straight 5K won by either John Araujo or Dave Parsel. John Araujo, Jr. won the 5K in August 2007,
33 races go.
Rounding
out the top five were: John Araujo 2-
19:34, Randy Parker 3- 19:52, Nam Ngo 4- 20:05 and James Kalasky 5- 20:16.
Seven runners set Personal Bests led by Frank Nogales who lowered his PB
by 2:28. Others establishing PB’s were
Patty Chi 1:09 lower, Diana Law 56 seconds lower, Jose Sanchez 47 seconds
lower, Chris King 17 seconds lower, Ryan Baldasari 9 seconds lower and Randy
Parker 6 seconds lower. Congrats to all.
The 48 runners today were the most since
63 ran in March 2005. It was the most
runners in a May race since 51 ran in 2001.
The next 5K is scheduled for 11:50 AM Monday, June 13 at Gate 510.
ANNUAL BOEING
HUNTINGTON BEACH 5K MAY 12TH
The annual Huntington Beach 5K will be
held at the Boeing recreation facility on Wednesday, May 12th at
noon. Be there at 11:45. Call Ty Stern on 714-934-9593 to
register. Cost to enter race is
$10. Cost includes a t-shirt and plenty
of refreshments. You must be a Boeing employee
or retiree to run.
The Boeing recreation center is located
at 14600 Bolsa Chica Street in Huntington Beach.
