DAVE PARSEL WINS JUNE 2010 5K
Dave
Parsel won our 299th lunch hour 5K on June 14, 2010 in a
time of 18:14. Dave has now won 109
lunch hour 5K’s. This
is the 33rd straight 5K won by
either John Araujo or Dave Parsel. John
Araujo, Jr. won the 5K in August 2007, 33 races ago.
Rounding
out the top five were: John Araujo 2-
19:00, Andy Born 3- 20:26, Tim Hickok 4-21:07 and Kie Soohoo 5- 21:30.
Three runners set Personal Bests (PB) led by Diana Law who
lowered her
PB by 40 seconds. Mark Miyahara lowered
his PB by 38 seconds and Frank Nogales lowered his PB by 6 seconds. This is the 2nd time all three runners have
set a PB in 2010. Congrats to all 3.
Peter Lew has extended his streak of consecutive races run to
120. His streak will end in July as he
will be on
vacation. Congrats on a record that will
likely stand forever. The other streaks
still going are: Dave Parsel 36
straight, Nelson Slagle 30 straight and Emmett Rahl 26 straight races.
The next 5K is scheduled for 11:50 AM Monday, July 12th at Gate 510 on
the Seal
Beach Facility. This will be our 300th
5K. To help celebrate our 300th
race, free t-shirts will be given to all finishers.
