GERRY HAMILTON
IS 1999 BASKETBALL PREDICTION CHAMP, SLAG 2ND
Gerry Hamilton grabbed the lead in week 8
and led for the last 11 weeks to literally coast to the 1999 Basketball
Prediction Championship. This was Gerry's 5th win in basketball
and his first since winning in 1993 and 1994. Gerry
was 2nd last year. It was the 6th time Slag has finished 2nd
to go along with 7 wins and he has finished 2nd the last
three times Gerry has won! We started basketball predictions
in 1967 and have predicted every year since
except for 1970.
Slag finished the season by being the best,
2nd best and best predictor during the last three weeks. He moved
from 5th, 143 points behind Gerry to finish 2nd 46 points behind Gerry.
He called the NBA commissioner to lobby
for an extension of the regular season to give him a shot at
Gerry and give his Lakers a chance to move up a
couple notches! No luck there.
Now for the playoffs - key team is probably
the Lakers as you could easily pick them to lose in the first
round or to win it all - good luck. I attached the NBA playoff
predicts I have received thus far. Next mailing will
be results after the first round.
Bring on football, retirement (retiring June
25) and those Buckeyes!!
For you Dow Jones predictors, the Dow (around
11030) now stands higher than all 16 predictors with John Slagle
at 11018 being the best at this point and Slag 2nd at 10601.
This could be the 3rd staight year that the Dow finishes
higher than all predictors! Nice market - go Dow!!
